I've gotten many cruel accusations on this sub forum. One of them being a "tendie" soyboy which is ironic considering I criticize Nintendo all the time. "Why do you use the switch instead of the steam deck!?" Because the switch has a better battery life. It's that simple. Steam Deck lasts a very meagre amount of time. I don't care that it's more powerful. I can play games I like on switch for anywhere from 4-6 hours long. Steam Deck lasts much less unless you play super old games and indies. I value portability. I don't like having to constantly lay down by a charger. At that point I'll just use a gaming laptop.

Switch games are better optimized for the switch itself. Even if they run worse than they would on steam deck, they consume less battery life. Again, if I'm going to be stuck to a wall port, I'll just use a gaming laptop.

Switch game quality is super old games and 2D indies, so that's the fair comparison. Steam Deck has battery life if all things were equal.

And how many of the Switch players are taking them outside of home? 20% at best. Most of their consoles are plugged to tv or even more often covered by dust, it just shows you quality of games on Switch, you beat a few first party games and you are left with nothing but shitty badly performing ports and indies with both running and looking better on Steam Deck. Battery Life is irrelevant as you can set framerate cap at 30fps, OLED has better battery life too.

Adjusted or NOT for inflation, games are cheaper than they have even been- as long as you stay away from Nintendo since they charge up to $90 per game

You can easily game for a $10 monthly subscription on PC/Xbox game pass or PS+ and play games such as NG4, Death Loop, Forza, Ninja Gaiden 2 black, Far Cry, Diablo, Halo infinite, Doom The Dark Ages etc. on gamepass. I don't plan on buying ANY games this year unless gta 6 comes out. I will just play ng2 blk, ng4, overwatch 2, Doom the Dark Ages for free on my PC game pass.

Unless you live under a rock and pay full price for all your games and don't know about PS+ or xbox/PC game pass or are willing to dish out hundreds if not THOUSANDS a year on $85 games w/ tax such as Mario Kindergarten Kart and Donkey Shit- games are cheaper than ever before.

DON'T BUY A SWITCH 2 UNLESS YOU ARE RICh AS SHIT

I paid $5 for microsoft shared acc that includes game pass and for past 3 months i've been using gamepass for free :smonk: Not a single tendyfag can say that about their games that are never on sale and if they are it's pathetic -20%.

Battery life is everything when it comes down to handhelds. Infact I'm using a 3DS to type this post.

True. Just stay away from Jewtindo systems, and gaming will be cheaper than ever.

I would have thought literally the only reason anyone gets a Switch is for the Nintendo exclusives. It is a pretty big selling point – Nintendo has been selling underpowered hardware since the Gamecube but is still pumping out money.

I've used my 3ds to make posts on this site too jfl.

I got one for the exclusives but I primary play third party games

I don't like the aesthetic either. It's too big.

RE4 2005 gets 4 hours on steam deck. It's 6 hours on switch.

5 gets 3 hours. Switch gets 5

Doesn't Switch 2 have a ridiculously short battery life?

I agree with your post though, the whole point of a handheld is that it's portable so if it has to realistically be plugged in every time you use it there is no point in it being portable.
I don't see the point of having a portable system as an incel though, most of us never travel or do anything so might as well just use a PC.

My switch lasts 1-3 hours, but maybe that's because it's from 2017.

TBF the Deck has better performance, the switch is legit just an overpowered tablet.

I'm talking about the switch 1. Specifically later models. Switch 1 was shit for the first few years battery wise.

OG switch has worse battery life. Ik it has better battery life. My point is portability.

He plays on Deck LCD which means less battery life. Plus this:
1744603642168
Which makes entire video pointless as with MSAA x8 he runs game 4x slower and requires much higher GPU processing power to render at 60fps. Switch has probably just 2x MSAA or even it may be turned off. He is an idiot and shouldn't be making video compassions if he sets up such stupid settings on to drain his battery ultra fast.

True, shame that switch 2 will be almost as big as Deck it seems like Deck is dictating direction for all handhelds which is kinda bad since you can't put it in your pocket.

it's the same for Steam Deck, buy OLED = better battery life. So you can't compare OLED Switch vs Deck LCD it's not fair. Either do OLED VS OLED or LCD VS LDC.

I don't have an oiled switch. All later non oiled models last longer too. I'm comparing current switch oiled to current steam deck oiled. Besides, I guarantee switch oiled lasts even longer. Let's say I get 6 hours out of RE4 at 60fps on switch, it's probably 7 hours on oiled.

Unfortunately, they have to if they're looking to be semi decent power wise to accommodate for batteries/fans etc, etc, so it's not a hazard. Switch 2 is apparently near steam deck power wise anyway, maybe more powerful. Handhelds have lost their entire purpose but it doesn't matter because normies will orgasm while playing Elden Ring for less than two hours on the go.

I don't see a switch 2 mini happening either. Switch 1 mini was already bad with battery life. Switch 2 mini I don't even see as possible due to how much more demanding the hardware will be on battery.

Steam Deck 2 will likely have a terrible battery life too. Even if it goes oiled. You can't really improve battery capacity without increasing size and there's only so large it can get before it's laughable.

This has always been an issue with gaming handhelds. It's why Nintendo opted for making weaker handhelds while competition, ie: Sony and Sega chose to pursue more powerful hardware in exchange for weaker battery life.
