I can't believe they butchered my favorite game ever.

The Last of us Part II is horrible - Some levels/designs and new enemies were top notch, but overall a failure of a game. This game would work better without Joel involved entirely, and simply be a stand alone game/story.

The Last of Us Remake is retconned and horrible.

And then..

They didn't learned from their mistakes and repeated it in the HBO show:

The Last of Us Season 1 Really good and very similar to the first game, but some of the cast sucked like Ellie.

The Last of Us Season 2 Is outrageous and hilariously bad, that even Part II looked good compared to it.

Overall all this combined, they showed it has potential that it could work without Joel or Ellie in the TLOU universe. But don't get rid of the original characters because nobody asked for that, especially not in some horrible way.

I know Bruce Straley is the man behind TLoU 1 but he quit, and Naughty Dog is dead now because of it. Him and Amy Henning were the key people behind Naughty Dog.

Also, Ellie wasn't even a confirmed lesbian until the DLC, which Neil Druckmann directed I believe.

TLOU 1 was always Joel's game, it's starts with him and it ends with him. It hurts how they treat him has as a piece of trash. Even on Remake cover art, Ellie is in big format and Joel very small, like he's some side character. Neil obviously has a personal vendetta against him because it's Bruce's character and TLOU 1 didn't work out how Neil wanted it.

I heard that some parts in Part II like Ellie's birthday in the dino museum were early canon events as Joel being alive. But they changed it into a flashback.
