Mount & Blade (series) - Wikipedia
It is a satisfying game because it has a good sense of progression and accomplishment
There is also a large varity of weapon types and armors. It is good for lootgoblincels
You start out as a nobody, you hire some peasants, and you try to survive in a harsh world ridden by war. Eventually, you get better, you get more money, you can afford better troops and better gear. You do quests for villagers and lords, you get reputation, you eventually get mercenary contracts, you become a vassal, you get to own villages and castles, and you get deeper into the politics of the world.
Something I really like is that you don't feel like the main character. The factions in the game declare war and peach on each other in the background. They fight each other. They take over other faction's settlements. They loot villages. If you like a certain faction, you can join them and follow their army going around on the map, joining their battles and helping them.
You can also get married with a woman, which is lifefuel
I have sworn my allegiance to the Kingdom of Vaegirs
Currently playing Mount & Blade: Warband, and it is lifefuel because there is also a newer game called Mount & Blade: Bannerlord, who supposedly is even better and expands upon the older game with more features and systems.
