While most of you already aware of what to do, I have chosen to write thisrelatively shortguide for those delving into digital piracy for the first time.
Step 1: find a suitable VPN.
In order to avoid receiving a copyright infringement email from your ISP, I would suggest downloading a VPN in order to safely hide your IP adress. From what I've gathered, the two most reputable VPN providers seem to be NordVPN and Surfshark.

However, if you would rather not spend money and/or do not wish to leave behind a visible paper trail, I would personally recommend ProtonVPN. It is both reliable and completely free of charge. The only downside is that P2P is not supported unless you pay, so you may need to use direct downloads in favor of torrents.

Step 2: Use an adblocker.
Sites containing pirated games are often filled with questionable and obtrusive ads that contain pop-ups and computer viruses. To avoid this, I would recommend an adblocker extension for your browser. If you are using Chrome or Firefox, uBlock Origin is easily the best choice.

github.com
For Chrome, AdGuard is a decent alternative.

Step 3: Find a site to download games from.
While there are a number of sites that offer pirated games, not all of them are safe. As such, I've compiled a list of trusted domains that you can use.
