Theory The down side of building up a support network

I've heard people say this that it's so important to build a support network for if/when you run into difficult times.

I mean, to be honest I wouldn't say difficult times are inevitable. You might be killed instantly somehow or die in your sleep with no warning and then you may have never gone through difficult times.

But anyway...

I think it's a bit of a luxury? Like, for many of us, it's challenging enough trying to survive (let alone thrive!) in the present, let alone preparing for every possible future scenario.

You may not even survive long enough to fall back on that support network if your maintenance of your present day life was so poor that it finishes you off before then.

Something else that occurs to me about this...

It's also possible to build up an anti-support network, lol

Basically, you can be surrounded by hostile people, like for example if you're in prison or living somewhere unpleasant.

It's probably just as beneficial to avoid that as it is to build up a support network.

That's my big brother, although he is as blackpilled and far spergier then me people come up to him randomly and strike up conversation, guys try to be friends with him, women try to get his attention, hell half a year back we went to the grocery store and as he was about to scan his card a woman runs up, swipes her card so he gets a free loaf of bread and a small discount, all while trying to strike up convo.

Since he is ultra spergy autist it's very difficult for anyone but me to get him to talk so it's usually futile, but goes to show the stark difference in treatment, bitch sure as hell didn't swipe her card for me who was right behind.

Yeah I try to be nice, and friendly and stuff. The strange thing really is that some people appreciate it and some don't. You'd think that everybody would like "niceness" but... many do not! lol

It's a complicated world I suppose!
