Lifefuel for Curries I guess:waitwhat:? With how much India is used as a symbol of grinding poverty, it's crazy to realize that it's actually on the cusp of leaving the club of 50 poorest cuntries in the world, at least when using Nominal GDP per capita as a metric. Really shows you just how poor a lot of Sub-Saharan countries are.

I'm dumb but how can India be the 4th largest economy while being the 50th poorest country?

4th largest in total economic activity, 50th poorest when population size is taken into account and all that activity is divided per capita.

Because GDP ≠ individual wealth. India has 1.4 billion people.

Wow currycels can now geomax to South Sudan

GDP is the average per capita. The poor eat cabbage and the rich eat meat, and on average they eat cabbage rolls together.

India has no prospects, and if someone believes that it can become a second China or replicate China's economic miracle, it is unlikely. The transfer of Western factories to China had a political motive, as the United States needed China for the Cold War to surround the Soviet Union. Sending businesses there was intended to strengthen the alliance between the United States and the People's Republic of China against the Soviets. However, there is no Cold War now, and China and the United States continue to trade trillions of dollars. Additionally, there is no ideological war, as capitalism is prevalent worldwide.

China has started to age without having made Japan's wealth reserves before aging, and their economy is now growing at a pitiful 5% per year (the lowest rate in two decades) due to an aging population and low birth rates. India will also soon have low birth rates and an aging population, so they will not be able to reach even half of China's level.

Saar i am so poor please give me US citizenship :ahegao:

It should be pointed out though that said 5% is still higher than the average of their income group. Lower than they are used to, but still better than their current upper-middle-income peers (emphasis on current, they are very close to officially becoming a high-income country.) Otherwise I agree, this is just a bit of a pet peeve of mine:feelsokman:.

Depends on how you look at it. Their working age population will start shrinking in a few years, but the amount of highly-trained workers will be increasing for a while, since they had a pretty high percentage of unskilled or low-skilled workers, whose percentages are declining.

There's mostly african coontries on the list, but of course, indoctrinated libtards don't recognize the obvious pattern here and still believe that "they are just like us".
