The 2000s were the last decade where manga/anime had high-quality storytelling and originality (by pop culture standards, obviously).

There's a very sharp and noticeable decline in quality after 2010. The only good anime from the 2010s and 2020s are those based on older manga from the 90s and 2000s (Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter, etc.).

2000-2010 was very good for more SoL shows.
They had lots of charm to them since everything wasn't replaced with copy & paste background or CGI renderings. Lucky star had actual hand painted watercolor background that looked very lovely

I think steins gate is overrated. It’s sloppy for a time travel anime, like a lot of similar media. The plot is kind of boring and the MC is cringe, reminds me of re:zero.
