It's a good game, but it has many flaws. Firstly, the bosses are rather mediocre in comparison to the older Castlevania games. They're either too easy, or they're just unfair. The unfair bosses will launch attacks you can't possibly avoid. I believe they designed them this way to gate under leveled players, which leads me to my next major issue: the RPG leveling up system is obnoxious.

I am currently at the inverted castle. I'm being absolutely raped by enemies because I'm level 29 and I should be level 40. I despise grinding and honestly this is my least favorite part of the game so far. I shouldn't have to spend hours killing the same enemies so that I can continue the game. It's tedious.

Overall, I'd say the game is a 7/10 so far.

While SOTN is still my favorite Castlevania, I actually agree with with the gripes you have.

A lot of the difficulty depends entirely on what level you currently are.

Yea, that's the biggest issue for me personally. I'm not a fan of grinding. Especially in something like Castlevania. Otherwise, it's a fairly above average game.
