Additonally, there were rumors about the studio using UE5 for development of this game.
In truth, Internet sleuths had already discovered earlier this year that Warhorse might be working on a separate project beyond the inevitable Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3. There are job postings seeking experience with Unreal Engine, and the studio's historical RPG series is notoriously powered by CryEngine. It is unlikely that that will change for the new installment, as it would mean abandoning an established workflow. However, it makes perfect sense to use Unreal Engine for a brand new project, especially if the studio needed to quickly recruit more developers for a separate, dedicated team.
Warhorse Rumored to Be Working on New The Lord of the Rings Open World Game
According to a reputable Polish source, Kingdom Come developer Warhorse might be working on the rumored The Lord of the Rings open world game
Insider Gaming reached out to the main parties involved: "When asked for comment on both what Warhorse is working on and the Crystal Dynamics-developed game, Embracer reiterated that it does not comment on rumours or speculation. Crystal Dynamics also declined to comment." As we discovered yesterday, Warhorse Studios has been looking to recruit workers to help with the creation of a mystery Unreal Engine-powered game, so if I had to bet, I'd still put my money on the Kingdom Come studio.
Following rumours of Warhorse Studios visiting Middle-earth, Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics is now said to be working on a Lord of the Rings game too
Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics is said to be working on a new Lord of the Rings game for Embracer, but don't count Warhorse out yet.
