This is perhaps the most important social and political issue you can talk about, but it is only present in the popular discourse in those instances when the media decides to write articles about it.
Most recently, the media is mainly making fun of Tucker Carlson for pointing out that marijuana decreases T levels, and so is contributing to this crisis. But when I looked up the topic on Google News when this thread was first made, there was only the article linked in the OP and a then a slew of articles from 2018. But between then and now, nothing.
This is how your perceptions are controlled. Mostly through lies of omission and whether something is made salient to you or not, but then also snarky gossip based on how social conformity is imperative to being perceived as high-status (uhh w33d is c00l so lolz @ tucker carlson for criticizing it).
