Keep in mind this is just a theory that I discovered by reaching age 37.
More specifically chronic depression. And chronic anxiety type shit. Which is very persistent and by medical standards it's considered disability tier.
Depression comes and goes. It can't last forever in the sense that you can get used to it, and go through phases where it's not completely dragging you down.
Perhaps you can adapt better sometimes, you read something, you find a distraction, give medication another go, and you might have a year or two where you almost forget about it.
Most mental problems and horrible feelings don't last either. Some can feel like hell for 4 years or so. As soon as that problem isn't bothering you, another one eventually comes along!
The core problem is still there, but the triggers and the obsessions change over time as well. That's not exactly good news, but coping gets easier when you understand the core of the illness, and not focus too much on the illusions of whatever you are focusing on.
Does it suck? It sure does. Usually after a 2 year phase of depression and bad mental obsession I am ready to rope.
I get spurts where I feel like the world ain't so bad, I put in effort, and do my best to function outside. It's not easy but the self loathing can eventually dissipate to the point you might want to LARP as a normie for a while. It's these periods where you may try your socializing/approaches or whatever, and test just how incel you really are.
