Serious So I'm like past the age where this should be a problem, I can't handle my own money.

So when I got a job after not having one for a while and moved out, the idea was my parents were to pay rent for a year. I was to save up and balance it out and pay for my own bills, food, and rent. Its been 4 years, and parents are still paying rent. Yeah. I have a great guilt about this. I was supposed to be more responsible and I fucked up. On top of that, I still live past my means a little more than usual. I tend to by clothes, movies, books, food, supplies like toiler paper, paper towels, cleaning stuff. I have nowhere near as much saved up as I should. I can't shake it. Any suggestions?

Who buys movies and books? Especially books, LOL @ reading tbh

But Idk OP budgeting is not hard, except food and toilet supplies wtf else could you be spending your money on?

I buy movies and books. Kind of my thing. I like to read or try too. Plus I have an emptiness that I try to fill with such things.I am not ready to go full digital, it's not me. I like to put the disc in, and watch it, and the whole thing. Budgeting has been a problem for me. Well, not really, it's more the saving. I did not learn or was taught to save. Or I didn't listen enough. I always had a thing when I had the money, had to spend it, not save and buy later. I am slowly trying to stop that.

Aside from bills, food, toilet supplies, which I take care of, it's entertainment, transportation, and clothes. Which I have slightly more than I need.

Rope. Relieve your parents of the undue stress

yeah i see where u are coming from, but if ur things that u are spending money on, help you cope with this shitty inceldom life, is there really a problem? as long as u are surviving and arent homeless etc etc is it really that bad to have bad money handling skills?

Thanks for the response. Well, I have been "coping" a bit too long. I have addictive tendencies. I used to drink alot, shopping/money handling has long been an issue. Yeah, I have had too much stuff, this happened last year, I almost got kicked out, and it is happening again. It's not as bad, just disorganized, and it's scheduling. I explained this to the landlady and she mellowed out a bit.

Is it bad? Yes. When you have certain habits and it goes on, yeah, I feel I should have handled this moreso sooner. Just saying.
