Silent Hill games were the original movie games. The gameplay was terrible compared to other survival horror games at the time. It's embarrassing comparing Silent Hill 2 to Fatal Frame, for example. The games aren't scary at all. (Although that's subjective) When you bring this up the fans protest with "MUH ATMOSPHERE AND STORY!"

The story is the only reason this series is even highly regarded. No one would give a shit about Silent Hill 2 if it weren't for its story. The fact Silent Hill 2 is remembered over Fatal Frame shows you that normies have always had a shit taste and preferred movie games to actual video games.

I would say Last of Us is the original movie game. It was basically a gay Netflix tv show made into a video game for people who hate video games.

Those games bore me to death. SH1-4 feel like games made by westerners not nips they only care about shitty stories and not the gameplay, at least SH1 and 4 were somewhat haunting (especially SH1 with that weird brain fucking ost) but SH2-3 were are not scary at all. I couldn't finish any of them i always dropped every single of them after a couple of hours they are jogging sims where you just go from one story segment to the next.
