Should I pre-order the new DOOM game?

Yeah the combat in Eternal felt too restrictive. The whole game felt restrictive and weird IMHO.

Typically, pre-ordering is a bad idea. But if Doom is your favorite series, and you have money to spare, then I say go for it

Yeah I haven't preordered anything in almost a decade at this point except for the System Shock remake. I don't regret that one at all (part of the reason why I did is because when System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition comes out, pre-orderers get it for free), but the last game I preordered before that was Fallout 4 and I regretted that hard. And I was ABOUT to preorder BF2042.

Pre-ordeing physical copies of games back in the day used to be awesome because you could slap minimum of 5 dollars down at EB Games or GameStop months in advance and pay little-by-little until it released.
Nowadays it's mostly superfluous, and maybe on rare occasion you will get early access or some shit, but given the state of modern games often releasing as a bug-filled mess I don't think it's worth it.

Given the track record of these newer Doom games it will probably release without too many issues on day 1. But you never really know.
