Most people share my understanding of what self-improvement is. Even getting rich is done when they think about how many doors having money will open.Yeah that's what you want to think, not what it really is. People improve themselves for getting better careers and more money, not necessarily better social standings - just look around how many rich/successful men who don't have much friends.
They do both.Females don't hit the gym to self improve, they go there to create content![]()
This is a choice. Even if I ignore it it will still exist and be rampant. If you allow yourself to be shamed by people, then it's your mistake. I agree the "standard" is toxic, which is why you shouldn't let it ruin your life, just ignore it and everyone honking it on your ears.
This is not at guaranteed. It's the pitfall into which many fall. You self-improve, but don't achieve any success. Your and society's immediate thought is that you haven't done enough, so you self-improve more and more and more and still no success. Now you're 35, life is over and you haven't enjoyed anything. Success is not related to hard work, effort or intelligence.Self improvement leads to better job prospects, which in turn fills your pockets with money, which you can use to pursue hobbies and travel the world. That's more than enough and much better than basement-dwelling.
I actually have some professional success and it came completely at random. I just changed fields (to IT) and job hopped once a year for better salary. No eternal, infinite cycle of sigma grindset.Self improvement is so great for men that IT and other haters will never suggest it even when joking around. They know we can surpass them easily and they don't want that, you know? Can you imagine their minds melting when they see us achieving ANY kind of success?
