Now, if you are from the US or somewhere else your statement might be valid, but in the rest of the world, Xiaomi are the king of the budget and mid range smartphones in retail. Their lower cost offerings ULTRA MOG quite literally all that of Samsung's.

Just compare their most capable midranger, which is the Galaxy A55, to Poco F6. At retail they cost the same, if not 100$ cheaper unless you don't mind a Chinese ROM without the possibility of unlocking the bootloader. Or the A35 with the Redmi Note 13 if we are talking about sub 250€ price range for a device.

The Poco F6 quite literally OBLITERATES the A55, except maybe in the camera department since it could be a subjective preference. That Exynos 1480 is TRASH compared to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (Upper midrange/ Entry level flagship chipset) which Xiaomi offers.

And no, I don't care about their 5 year support. What's the point of it if Samsung will intentionally degrade the performance of their devices with each newer OS update in hopes of making their consumers go buy a new phone?

I have owned two xiaonmis and one Redmi.... Those phones literally break in a year or so. Not because I dropped them or something like that, but because they simply don't turn on after a while.

Chinese phones are net inferior, meanwhile my dad still has a Samsung from 6 years ago. I forget the model. Anyhow sure you could get a Xiaomi and on paper it has better but you'll have to buy another one in two years at best.

I'd rather have my second hand Pixel that actually has the best software and decent hardware.

What phone did you have? And are you living in India or somewhere nearby?

I'm asking because there used to be a fatal error in the manufacturing of Xiaomi devices that were produced by India - Their Poco X3's were notorious for massively malfunctioning due to some soldiering issue or smth.

My previous was Redmi 9. It was a 130€ device and it lasted me 4 years until I upgraded. It's still working and performing relatively fine actually. Money quite well spent.

Good for you. My experience has been the polar opposite of that. Again, Samsung is objectively better because you don't need to replace your phone so often.
