Can you be a 6 or 7 and diagnosably on the spectrum and just unable to form relationships with mildly interested girls? I would say yes because that person's reality is still that they can't get sex despite trying. Their gap to not being incel is much narrower and not insurmountable.
Can you be an 8+ and incel? I would say no but only because at that point I believe the signals and opportunities from women have to actively be being ignored. They're forced to negotiate for weeks, months, years on a non sexual basis to indicate to women that they have what that woman wants, and to foster a level of comfort.
