I don’t know if I’m being irrational but the age difference is really not sitting right with me. I do think he’s a genuinely good guy, but I’m worried for her. I am F32 and in my twenties I dated men in their 30s. I regret every single one. Now being in my 30s I can’t imagine dating someone that is 21. It feels gross. It feels so problematic and there’s an obvious power dynamic imbalance. I’ve told him how I feel and shared my own experiences but I just can’t seem to find the words to tell him how wrong I feel about this. He just doesn’t get it, doesn’t see an issue and dismisses it when I bring it up. I’ve honestly lost a lot of respect for him. I don’t know if I’m allowing my own past experiences to play a part in or if I have a genuine reason to be concerned.
