I got mario kart double dash and F zero gx for the gc, and as much I like these games, having them feels pointless because their more fun when you have people to play with.

It's kinda like having fighting games with no one to play with, but at least with smash, that games very fun when you play alone.

I just thought about this pretty recently too.
I was planning on getting sonic riders for the gc and as much as I like that games style and aesthetic, playing it and unlocking everything feels pointless when I have no one to play with.

What do you think of this, do you agree?
I agree with you. At least most of my multiplayer games are online. I wouldn't mind an in person meeting for this, but let's face it, that ain't happening.

IRL Co op is mostly seen as old hat now because of online play.

I can think of quite a few games that could and should have been co op, but weren't

Its definitely one of those party games cause its simple and you dont need to put 100 hours of investment like moba

Those games you mentioned are more of that 'only enjoyable with friends' sort than some other racing games like NFS in my opinion. But yeah every game in general is better with friends and why even only games, everything is bettter with friends. Alas! we don't have any though.

I agree with you.

The problem with playing racing games alone is once you figure out the mechanics and racing lines you can easily beat the computer on the hardest difficulty because it is coded to do the optimal route in the race each time.

Playing with humans add more randomness to the gameplay making it more fun.

I had fun playing mkwii by myself

Yeah, I don't see myself playing a racing game alone; it doesn't feel like it rewards your time investment and interest. Imo MOBAs and strategy games are best if you have a lot of free time and no friends. Still, these party games give you some of the greatest experiences, but the fun doesn't come from the game itself, but from hanging out with your friends.

yes ive played quite a few like a schizo loner against CPUs
seems like the most fun is probably forza 4/5 multiplayer

Yep racing games bring back memories of a better time.

You need a PC to emulate these consoles. Afaik you can play via the internet with friends.

Racing games are the best to veg out to tbh. They are good after work because they don’t take effort or risk.

Wreckfest is good, the online multiplayer is fun.

Some singleplayer racing games are fun too like Grid (2008) with lots of type of racing and challenges.

Play Forza like the rest of the goyim

such an underrated brutal take, i’ve always had an intense desire to play party games like mario party but not a single ounce of fun can be extracted without friends

I was playing Mario Party all alone on the wii. It seems like a lot of nintendo games are meant to be played with friends.
