Question for weebcels: Why was the Gantz manga ending so hated? (spoilers)

I remember very long ago watching the anime and because it was unfinished and the ending was filler I decided to read the manga to see how the story continued. I avoided all the spoilers and enjoyed it very much and liked the happy ending but apparently many people disliked it saying it was unrealistic, that it should have had a grim and bad end and that Kei and his loved ones should have died because the tone of the manga was dark. Didn't know the Gantz fandom was full of edgelords kek.

It was? From people i talked about it everyone loved gantz and while the ending was sort of "weird" it was not exactly bad per se and actually made a lot of sense(or not) but it was cool. Gantz is a type of series that you have to like a certain way, you can't have normal expectations with it.
