GTA 3 has nothing going for it but it's dark atmosphere. Basic & janky controls, open world isn't fleshed out (obviously bc its from 2001)

I realized the protagonist is kind of a cel, he's just a robot who does what anyone tells him to do and he has nobody to trust in his life. He's a lone cold blooded killer just for money and his main antagonist is a psychotic feminist foid who gaslit him.

Most of the missions are moderate to easy difficulty though there are some insane missions in vice city stories like those gang shoot outs and those fucking chase missions. I absolutely despise those type of missions. There's that one mission where you chase these mfkers for so long while the cops are trying to bring you down. It's absolutely awful.Nostalgic and cozy? GTA3 has that grimy atmosphere like Hitman Contracts, Max Payne, and VtMB that I like. I also like how evil and nihilistic the characters are. Rockstar started to humanise GTA characters from SA onwards to make the series more normie friendly.
Mobile versions are dogshit and a crime against humanity, same for the definitive editions
The city does feel weirdly large for how small it actually is
GTAIII has unmatched cops on full steroids, plus there are some cool bumpy car physics.
Something it slowly got diminished as each passing title.
But you can get these removed features with mods, so not all is lost.
GTAIV being on a league of its own, giving some ol' respite to Carmageddon 2 in the suspension car physics department.

The breaking point was Gay Theft Auto V.
Every GTA game Before "it" is Excellent.
I fucking love Vice City. The only GTA game where I've 100%. Super based and funpilled.
Remember to get the invulnerable Admiral from Diaz during Guardian Angels. The most useful item in the game.
Also, stab the police with katana through the pizzeria's glass.

Yeah the best way to play those games is to own a playstation 2 or emulate the PS2 versions on PC
i remember playing gta sa as a kid without even knowing about the missions, best time of my life.

My first one was San Andreas on ps2. Never played 3.

GTA IV is my personal favorite purely based on the fun of getting 6 Stars on a shooting spree and trying to get away from the cops in the densest parts of the city. The physics are extremely satisfying

Truthnuke. When I played GTA 3, a lot of parts honestly didn't age well for me. And this is coming from someone who mainly plays older games.
San Andreas and Vice City are MUCH better.
