Although there is a genetic proclivity imo I think handsome, tall dudes don't deal with being an outcast or treated horribly. So they have support and the will to overcome most mental illness.

Of course I don't think many dudes choose to be depressed. I didn't. But years and years of abuse from society either means no healing or worsening depression (if present) or the development of depression if it never would have developed we're the guy treated with respect and accepted into society
