I had the same dream two days back, that some bunch of lowlives came to my house with knives and a freaking rothweiler. Very often i dream about my dead brother being hurt, sad, always in some distress.

Yeah I know, I’ve probably induced perma changes to my brain from binging drugs, but the only thing that’s built a lot of mental fortitude for me has been lsd, I’ve had times where I legit wanted to rope on it but I just kept repeating to myself I cannot rope, and now sober life seems sort of a joke to me, I can’t take anyone seriously , supervisors just seem like ppl in costumes to me, but when I get back home I get this existential crisis knowing I will prob be broke my whole life, with no friends and no gf, and that transfers over to my sleep

I will try. Soon it will be 3 years and i keep having similar dreams. I was taught in my church that praying for the dead is pointless, still it cant hurt. Thanks for the advice, i appreciate it.
In the Orthodox Church praying for the dead is acceptable.
Anyway, spiritual existence or afterlife maybe an illusion but what if soul really exists after death of body?
I believe it does. Our true self not affected by our fragile body and human' needs, our everlasting self is our spirit. Spirit which leaves the body after death and when every existence from this reality ends, we will be in heavens in new glorified perfect bodies. Where does the spirit goes and does it sleeps, between the moment of death and heavens, honestly i dont know.
