For those of you who don't know him, he is a mathematician that specializes in probability theory. He had a tweet storm a couple of months ago where he'd berate psychologist as pseudoscientists, and released an essay on medium in which he went through his issues with the notion of IQ.

If your metric is based on the misapplication of mathematics, as demonstrated by the paper by Taleb, then its conclusions can be thrown out too. Taleb demonstrates the misapplication in a reputable journal. It's that simple.

Psychometric theories are based on the assumption that the mathematics they are using is correct. If it isn't, then you can throw the theories out too. So, yes.

Hope to revive this thread. Seems that average IQ is required but not sufficient for a country to be successful. Taleb mentions in his latest book that more uncertainty can lead to more certain decisions (A package from Aleppo in Syria sent to you as an example)
