It's Over My Friend Just Said That They Wouldn't Say Good Things about me to Referrals

I'm applying to be a military officer, in my country when you apply to any government job they call up your past teachers, employers, friends, etc... and ask what they think about you. Even if you don't name someone as a referral, they find the person through mutuals and interview them.

I just asked my friends if they would help me out and not mention the edgy shit I say about women and stuff...

I thought he was joking so I kept asking, by the end of the convo it was clear he was dead serious.

If the military calls my friend he will throw me under the bus so I don't get the job.
