What exactly is the correct counter when normies say this shit to you? My own family have sometimes said this shit to me when I have a particularly bad episode about my social exclusion and my lack of even friendships, even after I explain I HAVE tried putting myself out there and mingling with others just like they suggested only for them to just ignore me or gloss over everything I said, my own mum and dad who spew this shit also gloss over shit I say constantly like it just doesn't get heard even when I try telling them some autistic factoid which they claim they enjoy me doing, so what the fuck do I even say as a counter to the "you expect friendships and relationships to just fall into your lap without doing anything"?

My parents always said if I wanted friends I would have to actively seek it by approaching random people and "putting myself out there" as you have mentioned. Turns out approaching random people as someone who is ND, stutters, has extremely poor social skills, is woefully uncharismatic, and unable to hold a conversation, on top of being unattractive, is not a good idea.
