He is a year younger than me, has had the same woman since he was 14 (but I know he has cheated at least a few times) and now they plan to marry in the summer. I haven't ever been to a wedding as an adult. Now I must buy them a present. I won't. Should I just tell straight that I won't come or make some excuse, maybe even travel away to a remote location conveniently on that day (and say it was planned before I heard the wedding day). I haven't been in any contact with him for 15 years. He has much better genes than me.

Unwelcome added stress to me from this. It's almost 4 months until the wedding.

I was going to say decide carefully before burning bridges but yeah not like you have any to begin with. Don't go, spare yourself from the torture.

If you are not close to begin with just deadass say it now?
