Most advice is poor because the person giving it out is disconnected from your struggles. This can be boomer advice concerning the gravity of the economy, dating advice coming from Chad-like coaches, teacher advice on jobs, etc, etc. They don't know you and are biased with their own life, and give shitty advice. They don't have context and situational awareness of problems. We may be humans, but the gravity of our problems are different.

Ya when I go through the logic with people of their situation, its always hopeless for them. So I don't give advice. I just ask sort of whys and whats to understand the situation and what is holding them back.

When someone succeeds they're not going to think they've succeeded because of their genes and because of their circumstances, they're going to think its just a result of hard work. So if someone else doesn't succeed, its just because they didn't try hard enough. Even though its genes + environment that determines what happens to us in life

I agree with that too. It's also the people you are around too. Family, for example, is a big predictor of social mobility. If you have a rich uncle that can fund your business, or extended family that can help you purchase a house or condo, that's a fucking big leg up, because they have more than a few decades of building wealth. YOu can just borrow money from them instead of going to the fucking banks with scam interest rates.

Some people aren't fit for life. It was over from the start for them.

yea its like a recovered alcoholic thats giving you advice on ways to stop drinking. their usage and reliance of alcohol was to cope with another issue totally unrelated to yours.

I would however, relate to someone that admitted during an Alcoholics anonymous confession that they abused alcohol to cope with extreme loneliness, despair, and inceldom. and that they replaced alcohol by doing another activity that involved a lot of time and dedication (like training for a 5k or half marathon for example).
