Mario went to shit after Galaxy 2

I don't think there's been one highly amazing Mario game released after Galaxy 2. It's as if Mario's golden run ended with Galaxy 2. Think about it
We had peak Mario in every regard before Galaxy 2
Best Mario sports games
Some of the best Mario RPGs
Best Mario Party games
Best Mario Karts
Best Mario spinoffs in general

Then Galaxy 2 was released, and everything went to shit afterwards. 3d Land was uncreative dog shit. The New Super Mario Bros somehow became more boring. The Mario RPGs became rubbish. Mario sports games went to shit. Mario Kart regressed from Wii with 7, then regressed from 7 with 8. Mario Party became borderline shovelware.

There were only a few games released afterward that were decent at best such as Luigi's Mansion 2 or Mario 3d World.

Then the switch came along and Mario somehow became even worse with the garbage that was Mario Odyssey, even worse Mario sports games, mediocre Mario party, more rubbish Mario rpgs.

How TF did the entire franchise go to shit after one of the best games released?

It's far less creative. The gimmicks are extremely repetitive. It feels like a parody of classic Mario.
