I decided to replay it recently out of boredom. My god is it fucking boring! All the tracks are so wide and empty. Since Lakitu instantly helps you if you fall off the track there's no tension or sense of danger like in past Mario Kart games. I cannot think of a single track that stands out in a way that motivates me to revisit it. Graphics are the best thing the game has going for it. I should be motivated by nostalgia, but no! I just want to replay Wii or double dash.
