I played the original pikmin on the wii recently and I really did enjoy it, I've never played the gamecube version but I think the controls work quite well with the wii remote and nunchuck, I enjoy the management aspects of this game so much that's it's one of the few games with a definitively end to get a couple more replays out of it, It helps that it's a relatively short game that you can beat in a couple of hours without speedrunning it. I like how at the end of each day it tracks how well you did with your pikmin showing how many you grew and how many died under your watch. Sometimes the Pikmin AI ends up being kind of retarded but it's not bad enough that it's gamebreaking and it kind of immersive considering the pikmin are nearly extinct when Olimar firsts crash lands on the planet.
This game is just filled with so much detail I like how the small spotty creatures (The bulborbs) can wake up there bigger versions if you don't kill them fast enough and I like how there is often multiple solutions to getting the different engine pieces allowing you to choice different routes. The time limit for each day is quite fair and only normalfags hate it as I like it because it adds tension the game. I like designs of the all the creatures in this game not only do the look well by they all provide you a decent challenge to go up against, also fuck the brits who made nintendo rename the wallywog enemy because they are offended by the word wog.
Overall Pikmin ends up being another great game made by nintendo during the gamecube era, 9/10 very close to being a perfect game.
