That's totally crazy IMO and seems so common on modern multiplayers. It's like the developers go out of their way to make sure that people interact as little as possible.

I remember every lobby of 12 to 24 players had at least two or three people talking. Now it's literally no one talking in multiplayer games.

It litterally does nothing and creates a market for selling accounts that were labeled sub-13 by their shitty AI. In fact, it's net negative because now kids will think whoever they're talking to is their age now.

I wonder what percentage of games do still have a good amount of public chat. I mean, it is possible to make voice chat very public and sociable too. I just personally prefer text.

It does seem like the vast majority are really clamping down on any kind of communication now, particularly public chat where you're communicating with just random other people.

It's great that some gems still exist out there but it's a concerning direction for things to be going in IMO.
