Conversation is more than humanlike answers. E.g., suppose Joe tells his gf that he has thalassophobia and a week later he tells her he had to go to the beach for whatever reason. Wouldn't a good gf/conversationalist empathetically ask "How did that go? Did the sea bother you much?" or something along those lines? I don't think AI are particularly good at backreferencing like that.
You conflate knowledgable with smart. LLMs are dumb as bricks but quite knowledgable. their logic should be about that of the average hooman because it's literally been trained to talk like one.
That is more of an issue with LLM memory in general - there are way to create what is more or less equivalent to long-term memory, but right now most of effort goes into corporate tasks.
That is a good point actually, but it really depends on on the model - a small model that had been finetuned for RP will indeed be quite dumb. But if we're talking about regular conversation - it's really not that big of a deal. From my experience, it only occasionally becomes an issue when you have a long RP story with a complicated world lore. This specific model doesn't confuse things that are in the context, but if you let it take initiative (it can and does try to introduce characters or create events as the story goes), it has a tendency to not get the "idea" of the setting - for example referencing events that happened IRL but could not have happened in the story, as long as the setting is based on real world.
