I think this is a sign of recession and women now as a collective going back to shaming men and soon we will start seeing "where have all the good men gone" type statements again.

During the industrial revolution, this type of behaviour was caused by real economic situation (factory workers made much more product than peasants and farmers and women didn't work), just like you've said. And then they got to the workplaces, which cause the situation to change.

However nothing has changed now, women still work and now get paid as much as men. In other words, using Marxism, there's no shift in the base, so there won't be shift in the superstructure. Nothing happens.
