That's a good sign. The common wisdom is to not release until you've got at least 5k or something, even if your game is ready for release. I guess it's because you want that momentum that will push your game in the charts, which will give you even more exposure.
I wish brocels could know which game so we could support you, but chances are you'd be getting review/refund bombed by Inceltears so don't tell anybody.

yes i made 95% of the game aside of audio.
my advice is to start with a Engine good for beginners that is small in size, free of charge and don't require an account, i suggest Godot. start with some Mario Clone or something simple like that, there are good youtube tutorials out there, Heartbeast is my fav.
once you are comfortable you can move to C++ and more complex stuff

ok glowie. Anyone with half a brain knows he is right yes he might get a dozen maybe 2 dozen sales here if generous but the ones put off will likely way outnumber all of us once he gets bombarded by negative reviews.
Were you ambitious on your project? did you have to leave a lot of stuff out? That's a problem that i think i may have too, i'll want to make something really big and face up the reality of being a solo dev.... I'll check the dude your yt rec, thanks
I'm on this project for 3 years, it is ambitious in a few ways but a lot of ideas ended up in the cutting room floor.
before this project i made a dozen of small games and posted on itch.io they all suck but i got experience and feedback, trying to make you dream project in your first try is impossible it seems.
pro tip once you feel confident enough to make a commercial game, try to get it on Steam as soon as you have marketing material made for it, so you can farm wishlists.
