Honestly like I wonder why one of his body guards hasn't gone ER on Kim Jong Un in minecraft. Think about it. Imagine if you were an incel living in North korea and you are starving, etc. You get a loaded AK-47 to guard Kim Jong Un. Like you could go ER and kill him in minecraft and and become an international hero at the same time. If you live, you are guaranteed to ascend because of your tremendous statusmaxx. North Korea must be full of soyboys because no one has tried this yet. Maybe the guns are unloaded and its all for show except for a few very trusted bodyguards in the Army.
If Kim Jong Un gets shot, then someone else will take his place as dictatorial leader (presumably one of his relatives), who are ideologically trained to follow a similar authoritarian agenda. The guard would simply be shot and have their entire family by extension executed perhaps publicly for doing so, there's no chance of survival for the guard in that situation pewpew.
Good points. However with the loss of the Kim family leader, and nobody old enough to inherit the throne, who knows what the generals might do, and the whole country could descend into chaos, in which case South Korea would obviously benefit and take control of the situation. Basically from my understanding North Korea is like a giant manufacturing corporation, with Kim Jong Un as the acting President and CEO. He is a billionaire while his people rot and starve. Many people, including his generals, might be fed up with the situation. You know in Cambodia, Hun Sen, who was a beloved General for Pol Pot, defected to Vietnam. He then got Vietnam to invade Cambodia and depose of Pol Pot. Then Hun Sen became the dictator for the next 40+ years; he is still the dictator there today. A lot of weird stuff can happen in the world though. Like who really saw this China virus coming? I think you're right though, 99%+ likelihood,, the assassin would die, and some form of communism would remain in North Korea. The hold the Kim family has on the country may be decimated by his untimely death, however.
