its usually because people think about the situation differently. if you look at a situation with objectivity then you can understand why someone would want to kill another person. but animals are completely defenseless and most likely didn't do anything that bad to you to deserve to be killed.

There you go, something that nobody can logically argue against, but I'm sure you will try anyways, morality is simply the difference between those four criteria being met, that's really it, we live in modern times where its easier to have your needs met so it seems like were more "morally superior" to the humans of the past, but we aren't, were actually more hedonistic and immoral, we just have to tools and resources to more easily provide for ourselves than the people of the past.
