I get what Peterson is recommending, but we don't live in the 20th century anymore. This is Tinder and Badoo era where average and even slightly below average women have unrealistic high standards. Physical attractiveness is the primary factor behind initial romantic and sexual interest, therefore little to in some cases no dressing or personality improvement will help guys getting laid. Peterson's advice may work for some average guys, but not for us. Our problem goes deeper than that.

Peterson is a boomer. His outlook is from a generation on its way out. He has little awareness and understanding of the modern day reality for young men. He can't seem to grasp the fact that the reality of dating today is not like dating in the 70s. I don't even know if he understands hypergamy and it's effect on the current dating market. Doing something is better than doing nothing in my opinion. You can improve yourself for your own sake even if you’ve given up on women or they’ve given up on you, so it’s solid advice from that standpoint.
He's not that different from bluepillers when it comes to discussing the problem that incels face. For some people the advice to work on themselves may work aka volcel but for some who are already deep in the hole even if they "improve" it will never be enough.
