Ugly and short jesters were in high demand as their appearance made them more comical. They usually worked as entertainment for kings and noblemen and also sang and danced and did ventriloquist routines. They could get away with saying things that would have gotten others beheaded.

Then how do we start calling tinder jesters?

Well during classical antiquity in ancient Rome, actors/entertainers had the same social status as prostitues. Under Roman law they were known as 'infames', which basically meant they were subhuman and weren't offered the same legal protection or status as a Roman citizen.

The kings allowed it, but I doubt they insulted the actual king

What do you mean?
Normies who believe that acting like a jester (AKA jestermaxxing) for foids on tinder will get them laid so they constantly make jokes and puns to gain foid's attention on such apps. They will come up with cringe pick up lines that only a redditor could think of. If jesters actually had good lives then not sure if it's the appropriate term for such losers.
