This quote by Mackenzie Crook (of The (UK) Office and some other things), made me think of this.
Literally all he's talking about is that they leave a disabled employee in the stairwell. But it's not done to say that that's OK behaviour. You're supposed to disapprove.
But we have so little freedom in artistic expression now that even including it at all is too much. It's like we all have to be traumatised that we even once had that freedom.
