The original Xbox and Xbox 360 were pretty good consoles. They appealed more to the masculine American tastes. They had a very distinct and appealing style. During the time, Microsoft was going out of their way to get very male centric games like Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, Halo, and others. Since the third party support was also good, it was arguably just as good if not a better console to have than the PlayStation by the time the 360 released.
Halo 3 was truly an amazing multiplayer game, (although story was lacking) and despite being less powerful than the PS3, most games ran better on it.

Xbox is now just a souless globo homo dei box. All their iconic franchises have been butchered and lobotomized into being woke and inoffensive. The design of the consoles don't have that, American masculine edge kino anymore.

Compare the OG Xbox to the Xbox series x

They are also not real consoles anymore, imo, as both xbox and playstation have been using x86 x64 hardware since last gen.

They are just low end PCs at this point. I do have some games that I like to play on mine, but they are all old / older.

I am also playing the GTA Trilogy. Yes, shame on me, but I haven't bought it in a store or anything.
Got it used from a private seller so won't get any money for their shitty remasters.

Three years later and the remasters still suck and I know that won't get much better because I know how they were made.

What disgusts me is that Microsoft, Sony and Steam were spineless enough to allow this shitty remaster on their platforms.

There should be some kind of quality control to ensure that people don't run the risk of buying garbage games.

I have paid no more than 20€ for the disc though, so for that it is just ok.

It's insane how many incompetent people are in charge. Apparently, Microsoft forced them to make the Xbox one focus more on being an entertainment system for everything vs being a video game console in regards to the marketing. It would've been so easy to make a successor and find a success if they didn't go that route. .

There's something very repulsive about how consoles are in a rat race to have a faction of the performance of a PC. Ofc it makes sense because consoles are far cheaper and they can't afford to have the same power.
But, I really don't think they should be focusing on power anymore. They'll never truly be able to achieve current cutting edge technology these days. PCS are just too far ahead.
These companies should focus on getting good exclusives and implementing unique hardware features.

That's why you jailbreak the console and get the games for free. The games I want to play on Xbox are cheap.

I agree with you. Imo, PS2, Nintendo GameCube, Wii, Sega Dreamcast and Xbox were peak gaming.

For me that was the golden age.

Online capabilities ruined console gaming and therefore gaming as a whole.

Developers started relying more on the ability to patch their games later on, if they messed up, but eventually they'd not even bother to do that in time and or properly either.

I used to be able to almost completely finish those great wall levels while sprinting. Only in some instances I had to let break to jump and reach a higher platform for the boxes.

But in the remaster I can't do that anymore... .
The tiger feels super sluggish... .

And then some of the surfaces and character models. It looks so plasticy... .

Spyro the remaster isn't perfect either. Sometimes it feels a bit like he is ever so slightly sliding / slipping.
Not sure what it is. At least it isn't severe enough to be game breaking for me.

At least the levels are super beautiful. Dark Hollow is my all time favourite, I'd say.

I think the reason why Microsoft is deliberately trying to downgrade the quality of their games is so that they can get the masses used to the new norm, so they don't have to put in as much work and then can still surprise them, every once in a while with something nice.

Maybe they have already hit a plateau, you know?

It's like, if you get your customers used to great quality from the start, where is room for improvement so you can charge them even more / sell them another game?

If you've already given them 100% there is nothing left for you to sell them.

Yep, XBOXes can be jailbroken too, But the 360 is harder, If its updated beyond a certain point the fuse for jailbreak in the console is broken, Therefore its easier to get a jailbroken PS3 or jailbreak them because they can be downgraded and dont have fuses that break during an update.

Xbox should have just stuck to that niche. They were in their prime when they primarily catered to Shooter and Action RPG fans. Things started to go downhill when they tried emulating the success of the Wii. I hated when they introduced Miis and crappy motion controls (the Kinect). And then the lack of decent exclusives and disastrous unveiling of the Xbox One pretty much doomed the brand. It has never recovered.
