Its funny how xbox used to be better than playstation in a niche genre like hack and slash

Gaystation had god of war and tbh i still think old god of war are massively overrated yeah stories are fun but i don't really like the gameplay. Devil may cry was good for what it was but ninja gaiden was just something else. Every enemy fought you like he was the main character. Ninja gaiden is the only game i can think of a game where normal goons are more memorable than boss fights in a action hack and slash. The level design of black was great how it made a interconnected level through multiple chapters something like resident evil 4. Which i really wish more linear hack and slash did. every enemy encounter is just tense af. Every goon fights like he is the main character whereas in devil may cry its more about pulling off combos while dmc3 is slightly above average in terms of difficulty. But ninja gaiden is just far more grounded and brootal version of it

God of War is massively underrated. NG being "something else" to DMC well okay, whatever. The PS3 has enough games for two lifetimes, it blows every other console in existence out of the water.

Ninja Gaiden sigma 1 is without a doubt the best action game I played. I need to play Black. I wish the sequels opted for the more action adventure style VS being linear hallways.

black is better install xemu and download xbox files and then convert black's iso to xiso. Its a bit of a pain to get it work but when it works it works like a charm a 60fps.

2 is also playable only on xbox. and 2 is good for first 6-7 chapters only. or till the Italy part. i dont remember which chapter is that. after that it turns into slogfest of just fighting 100s of enemies. You are just fighting same enemies for no reason. enemy variety is there but game is just overwhelming with its count of enemies. Also by the end level design sucks ass, its just linear hallways of UT spamming. Even itagaki admits its not perfect because tecmo forced him to rush it

Gameplay is the soul of the game. 2 had it better
