I will answer this question for the current environment in the United States. I do not entirely agree with this question. I think men would be better off avoiding socializing in any way with women in today’s workplace. Men can not avoid working with women if they are in the same team or company. I think men’s interactions with women should be 100% professional. No chatting, no asking about personal life, no “God Forbid” compliments of any type.
In my judgement, if there is any kind of social work event, men should try to socialize or talk to other men rather than women.
