Is it just me or do you seem to have better memory than other people

If someone was to tell me what their birthday was today i would probably remember it 10 years from now, even if i was to never see that person ever again. Other people i see daily seem to forget conversations we had last week. Im not trying to humble brag either, i never did well in school even though the education system is not as much about intelligence as it is on rote memorization. Not making a long drawn out post, just wondered if others related. Guess having decent memory isnt very useful if its mostly on easy to remember useless information.

My memory is for sure hyperactive which is both a blessing and a curse. For one, the amount of things that get remembered is to the extent that even thoughts themselves (not even sensory events) can be recalled. But there are definitely benefits like the time when I realized two things my dad said 3 years apart completely contradicted each other, enabling me to see through deception and grasp the truth.

I can relate. I perform exceptionally well when it comes to word for word memorization which was why i love history, geography and biology. But i suck at logical thinking and i sucked horribly at math since childhood. Guess it's just a genetic thing
