When I went to India in the 2000s and even early 2010's there were more beggars, people look more malnourished even the children. Nowadays, I didn't see any malnourished looking Indians, maybe very few older people. Also, I saw very few beggars mainly older people. Has India finally achieved better living standards?

It gets incrementally better but still ways to go. Cities continue to be developed. What you're really seeing is just urban sprawl. Poverty is still very much a problem.

Outside of city , there are actually a lot of beggars. But chennai does improved a lot over the years with metro and allat stuff.
