Occasionally I am thinking about buying carnivorous plants again, was successful with
Drosera/Dionaea/Sarracenia as a teenager, but stopped it as an adult. I have read some books about them and have very fond memories of mine. I also like the
Cephalotus especially because it's difficult to keep and want to own
Heliamphora/Darlingtonia one day for their aesthetic value alone.
I also like
Roridula which catches insects but doesn't digest them - many other animals like mites/spiders eat those caught animals and then defacate on the plant which is useful manure for it, also very difficult to keep. One of my favorite memories as a child was seeing
Drosera (probably
rotundifolia) in the dunes on the side of a boardwalk, I also live a few kilometers away from a moor where they occur naturally, but sadly never found one. A documentary influenced me very much to start with them.
I also like aquatic plants and think of designing aquaria/terraria/glasshouses often, in the last few weeks I read about aquatic spiders, one guy kept them in aquaria with an aesthetically pleasing stock of plants (like
Lemna/Pistia) and guppies as an occasional food source. I also like outside enclosures for different snakes (especially European vipers). Btw when you like plants/animals I recommend you
Abronia - these aboricol alligator lizards can be kept in aesthetically pleasing enclosures with Tillandsias, Bromelias and Mosses, look at the enclosures in the video for example:

Btw
Abronia is also the name of a plant genus. It comes from habros which means delicate.
