I've been there. At least, in my case, I persevered through it. It made me stronger.
So, yeah, I'm glad I didn't let the bastards win because I'm finding life pretty sweet now.
But if you're dead set on it and no one can talk you out of it, consider doing it in a way that takes a few of the bastards with you. That way it will have made a bigger impact than just allowing them to point and laugh at your corpse.
