The issue is that how others perceive you is detrimental for your social life. At work you'd be a loser that no one would want to work with, which can lead to your boss firing you because you're "not a teamplayer". Your friends would make fun of you secretly, girls will know you're a loser so that's off the table and your family is ashamed of you.

exactly its not about just not giving a fuck about others. when youre bottom of the barrel you get shit treatment which fucking sucks
