The United States will not fight for Taiwan, at most they will send weapons, impose sanctions against China, sever diplomatic relations and create a Taiwanese government in exile in the United States. If China wants to, it will start a propaganda war in Western Europe and the Third World against the United States, so that the whole world will burn American flags and hate America. The thing is that without guaranteed security for America Taiwan, along with South Korea and Japan, would very logically decide that building their own nuclear weapons would be the only way they could safeguard their own security.
