one of the reasons I like german and that got me so keen on learning it is because I failed in french, I actually think german is much much easier than french. I mean it's only been a week and I could atleast form a sentence, something I couldn't do back when I learned french.
what makes french so much harder for me, contrary to other people is the grammatical aspect. I get that german has difficulty in grammar, specifically articles and positioning of each word, but all that isn't so difficult to me than learning the complex, sporadic, multiple non structural tenses of french and the endless conjunction of verbs that made it nearly impossible for me to remember what verb to use in any given sentence. for me that is harder than positioning a word and halted my journey to learn french several times. I don't even know how people are convinced that french is an easier language just due to having better articulation, it fucking sucks and doesn't make any sense german is way more systematic in comparison.
Nouns are always spelled with capital letter. The Chair, etc. Verbs aren't.
Learn everyday nouns and verbs. Conjugation is about as hard as French.
Learn standard phrases depending on what you want to speak or understand.

in hindsight you're right, French is harder. I also failed French, because I never practiced and just don't like the language.
if you conjugate the verb "went", have and be in German you can already do a lot with it.
but I wouldn't know where to start, I never had to actively learn German.
English is hard due to some pronunciation differences (bear, fear) but at least the verbs always stay the same

I learned French in school in the early 2000s. But I've forgotten the most of it because you don't get confronted with French on a regular basis here. They should have offered Russian, Turkish or Arabic, I hear that here every day.

Diese Apps sind wenig hilfreich. Eher ein Lehrbuch bestellen. Nur mit Apps wirst Du nie das C1-Niveau erreichen.
Im Grunde hilft es auch, DW zu gucken, Wikipedia zu lesen usw. In der Wikipedia sind nur politische Themen bzw. neuere Geschichte zu ignorieren, da das alles linksgrüner Schwachsinn ist.
